Turner Sports and Capital One approached Solomon Group on the heels of previous successful event executions with two goals in mind; One, blow the doors off of their sponsored evening entertainment and fan experience at the 2019 NCAA Men’s Final Four in Minneapolis with superstar headliners including Chainsmokers, Jonas Brothers, and Katy Perry. Two, increase brand engagement and awareness of Eno, Capital One’s virtual banking assistant.
I designed a tech heavy performance stage, maximizing the capabilities of a new cutting edge event venue, The Armory in downtown Minneapolis. A massive pair of raked LED screens and a mix of scenery and video surfaces, combined with top of the line lighting, atmospheric, and pyrotechnic equipment, pushed the artist performances to the extreme, wowing the capacity crowd night after night. Then, followed through on brand engagement by designing interactive challenges at the Minneapolis Convention Center; Chuxedo, an AR fitting room experience where users could dress like Charles Barkley for the big dance, and Eno shooting challenge, featuring an interactive LED court.
